Vladivostok, Russia

Today we docked Russia and have been walking for 3 hours straight. Tis is partly because we got lost, but it was a good way to see more of the town. Vladivostok is best known as the Pacific end of the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is the longest continuous railway track in the world. The town was closed to tourists until 1992. The town is quite bland and the people are very cold, very difficult tom get them to smile.

We walked out to a Naval Fotress which had the bunkers and all the artillery from the war. It was quite daunting. Took lots of photos of the artillery, it is amazing how far some of those torpedoes and bombs can travel. We also went to see a submarine that was part of the war. There are a lot of naval ships here as well as it is the main base of the Pacific fleet of the Commonwealth of Independent States. There were a lot of navel ships here and we could see all the crew in uniform on the ships.

There were some of the staff on the ship that would not get off the ship as the Countries that they come from were occupied by the Russians and they don't want any part of seeing the country. These are young people who are filled with hate towards the Russians......deep seeded hate.

Thankfully we have been eating alone as of late so no prune stories to tell.

Shout out to my sister Joy on her birthday today as well as my good friend Beth. Hope you are both enjoying a great day.

Tomorrow is another sea day and then we head to South Korea.

Stay tuned for more adventures.
